Ep. 123 - Athletic Training for Rodeo Athletes with Natasha McCann

There’s been a new movement in the past year regarding rodeo athletes placing an emphasis on athlete as a big part of their budding career success. Natasha McCann grew up an athlete before a major injury sidelined her from her collegiate dreams. A resilient young lady, Natasha became a buckaroo riding colts and then, on the side, got her EMT license and worked in an ambulance. Her passion for fitness and the western life led her to become a 2023 COWGIRL Magazine 30 Under 30 Recipient, as well as an athletic trainer for some of rodeos top athletes and a training coach with Champion Fitness Living.

Ep. 87 - Peyton Bennight; Yeti's Rodeo Specialist

Peyton Bennight has a long history and passion for the western industries of rodeo and ranching - being raised in a sale barn and living on a cattle ranch will do that. Always on the move and working hard, Peyton takes us through her career post college at Texas A&M University, covering her background as an animal husbandry expert for monkeys, teaching agriculture at her high school alma mater, and then becoming the rodeo specialist for YETI. Her passion for horses, cattle, rodeo and ranching all comes through in this fun conversation full of laughs and good stories!

Ep. 71 - All Around Cowgirl, Rancher, Actress, & Huntress, Carly Twisselman

Carly Twisselman is a native to the central coast of California, where she grew up on her family's generational cattle ranch. Always being a part of rodeo through the roping scene, she took a chance to independently rodeo-ing for the UCLA Bruins while getting a degree in mass communications and aspirations of being an actress!

It wasn't until she decided to step into the professional world of rodeo that she decided to upgrade from running her roper horses in barrel racing to a bred-to-run quarter horse cross as barrel racing was her only option as a woman in prorodeo. Her current mount, Charm, is a half-sister to Hailey Kinsel's great mare Sister, and is setting the way for Carly's success in the rodeo arena. But potentially even more exciting is the addition of breakaway roping to prorodeo's across the country!

Carly dives deep into ranching, rodeo, her breeding program and bloodlines, being a television host for RIDE-TV and her involvement in the hunting industry and politics.

Kim Rounds knows hard work, in fact, there’s many times in life that she’s been knocked down and challenged to quit - but that’s something she hasn’t done! A former show jumper, Kim was hooked on the world of reined cow horse when she watched them film parts of Down the Fence at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. Strategically leveraging hard work and learning fundamentals, she’s found herself with the perfect horse, Stevie, and this dynamic duo has placed TOP 5 in the NRCHA world for two years running. A cattle industry professional by trade with 5 Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC, Kim is knowledgable and well spoken about all aspects of the cattle and equestrian worlds.

Ep. 48 - Brandi Buzzard; 2019 NCBA Advocate of the Year

Brandi Buzzard is one cool cowgirl, rancher, runner, and mother who is doing so much good for advocating the wetsern lifestyle. Brandi joins hosts Rachel & Katie as we chat about what it’s like to be one of the best in the business.

Named the 2019 National Cattlemen’s Beef Assocation’s Advocate of the year, Brandi has interviewed with MSNBC, Fox News, and her presence has been requested as a rural representative to chat with White House Senior Executives.

This former college rodeo athlete is a passionate breakaway roper and we chat about the future of the world of rodeo that her daughter will get to know!
